Silk Screened Pins
One of the two types of “printed” pins,
silk screened pins are vibrant with no forced separation between
colors.
How are they made?
The outline of your pins is used to create a mold
of the pin. Sheets of metal are then cut into that shape. Using
a silk screening technique similar to the one used to print on T-shirts,
colors are printed one at a time onto your pin and allowed to dry.
This process allows colors to “bleed” to the edge of
the pin. An epoxy coating is then added to protect your design.
When should I use silk screened for my pin type?
With the other pin types, each color must
be separated by a raised metal area. If your logo or trademarked
design requires that there be no such alterations made, then silk
screen printed pins would be the perfect solution. If you prefer
a pin that has raised and recessed areas, then we will have our
design team use your design as a starting point. Of course, we will
need to have a line of metal in between each color for any of the
non-printed pin types.
